OCEAN SOUNDS JANUARY 2027

Ocean Sounds is a family-friendly, music-lovers’ all-day sunset concert that will take place once again at the beautiful Phillip Island on Saturday 9th January 2027.

Picnic rugs, smiling friends, stunning local wines, gourmet food, the summer-sun softly setting over the ocean and some of Australia’s most amazing live music.

This very special summer edition of Ocean Sounds Festival is packed with a massive line-up headlined by

    Pete Murray

    One of Australia’s most enduring and endearing singer-songwriters, Pete Murray is a multi-platinum-selling artist who has sold over 1.2 million albums, released three ARIA chart-topping albums, and earned 17 ARIA Award nominations among multiple other wins and accolades.

    Emerging with his debut full-length album The Game in 2001, Murray’s breakout sophomore album Feeler (2003) cemented his status as one of Australia’s all-time greats. With timeless hits like Better Days, Feeler, Opportunity, and So Beautiful, his stirring blend of acoustic, rock, and folk elements continues to resonate with fans.

    Now an independent artist, Murray has made a powerful return with new music, including the singles Wouldn’t It Be Good and I Am Fire, both receiving national support from Triple M, The Project, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, and many others. His Wouldn’t It Be Good 2024/2025 Summer tour saw an incredible 16.3K tickets sold, and he’s just announced his biggest solo tour to date—a massive 59-date run across Australia and New Zealand with shows on sale now and tickets selling fast.

    Missy Higgins
    Missy Higgins  is one of Australia’s most beloved singer/songwriters. Her music has struck a deep and enduring chord with its irresistible melodies and ‘arrow through the heart’ lyrics. Since being Unearthed by Triple J back in 2002 while still at high school Missy has blazed a trail for female singer/songwriters, marching to her own drumbeat. She has won 11 ARIA Awards and notched six #1’s in her homeland while also enjoying a gold certification in the USA. The Sound Of White was 2005’s ARIA Album Of The Year featuring the hits ‘Scar’, ’Ten Days’ and ’The Special Two’. 2007’s On A Clear Night (feat. ‘Where I Stood’ plus #1 single ‘Steer’) was also the highest selling release of the year in Australia. After a few years break from music Missy returned in 2012 with another chart topper The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle (feat. ‘Everyone’s Waiting’). By now her songwriting had become less introspective. A unique book/covers album ‘OZ’ was followed by Solastalgia which explored the existential dread of our climate crisis. Lead single ‘Futon Couch’ became her biggest radio success in a decade, as Missy supported Ed Sheeran on his ÷ Stadium Tour. In November 2024 Missy was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame capping a huge year including a new #1 album called The Second Act - “a kind of sequel” to her hugely influential debut The Sound Of White. Although the two albums are separated by exactly 20 years they both grapple with the same questions ... “who am I?” and “who do I want to be?”.
