Double bassist Birgir Steinn Theodorsson and drummer Sólrún Mjöll Kjartansdóttir have collaborated in various projects over the years. Following their trip to Poland in May 2025, they were inspired to compose and record an album of original music exploring the interplay between double bass, drums, and percussion.
The sound world of Agata is open and experimental, with rhythms stretching in different directions, creating tension that dissolves into improvisation, melodic fragments, and textured sonic landscapes. The album will be performed in full at Reykjavík Jazz Festival.
Evening Pass tickets for Fantasía are available in three price categories: standard price 7,990 ISK, reduced price 5,990 ISK for those who prefer a lower ticket price, and supporter price 8,990 ISK for festival supporters. The Evening Pass grants access to all concerts that evening in Fantasía. Individual concert tickets are not available for the evening programme.*
