Benjamín Gísli Trio

Benjamín Gísli Trio presents original music by Benjamín together with selected jazz tunes in new arrangements. The music is melodic and engaging, characterized by warm harmonies, open improvisations, and vibrant interplay. It moves between Nordic jazz and classical music, while also carrying a sense of tension and unexpected turns that draw the listener into the trio’s musical universe.

The trio released the album Line of Thought in 2023, which received international recognition. The trio is now excited to present new music to the audience once again.

Benjamín Gísli is one of Iceland’s most exciting pianists and has gained recognition for his lyrical style, expressive playing, and refined sound. Although jazz-trained, his music reaches far beyond that definition — blending influences from classical music, film music, and improvisational passages inspired by Keith Jarrett. For Benjamín, the piano is not simply an instrument, but a way to explore new ideas, communicate emotions, and create connections with audiences. His music is constantly evolving, existing somewhere between structure and freedom, tradition and innovation, always searching for something new.
