Thu 06.08.2026 20:30

This summer, saxophonist Moritz Christiansen will tour his former home country, Iceland, with his Hamburg-based trio. At the beginning of the tour, the trio will work on new music, which they will then perform at venues across the country before recording it in the studio at the end of the tour. Their music blends Nordic jazz and ambient influences, with an emphasis on strong melodic lines and storytelling through music.

The opening concert of the tour will take place at Jazz in Djúpið.

Joining Moritz in the trio are drummer Alex Petratos and guitarist Anton Deyß. The three musicians have performed extensively together as the core of Moritz’s quintet in Hamburg.
