A Different Thread + Lisa Nora - Brighton

Join A Different Thread for an intimate evening of original music at Brighton's own Folklore Rooms, with support from Lisa Nora.

7pm

North Carolina-based Americana band A Different Thread return to Brighton as part of their 20-date Over Again album release tour.

Fresh off winning Best Folk/Americana Song at the International Acoustic Music Awards and a new ★★★★ Rolling Stone Germany review, the transatlantic duo continue to earn praise for their harmony-driven blend of British folk-rock and North Carolina alt-country.

Formed after meeting while busking in Ireland, Alicia Best (North Carolina) and Robert Jackson (England) have built a loyal following through years of touring on both sides of the Atlantic.

Joined by Mike Seal (Birmingham) on double bass, their live shows combine rich harmonies, honest storytelling, and songs that balance longing, resilience, and hope.

Lisa Nora is a Dutch-born, UK-based singer-songwriter blending indie-folk and Americana with country influences. Inspired by the likes of First Aid Kit, Kacey Musgraves and The Lumineers, she moved from the Netherlands to the UK at the age of 19 to pursue a career in music, starting a journey that continues to shape both her songwriting and her sound.

Writing songs that feel like hand-written letters, Lisa explores themes of home, love, loss, belonging and the spaces in between. Her music is rooted in honest storytelling, drawing listeners into moments that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar.
