Al Wootton is a South London producer and DJ whose deep-rooted affinity for rhythm threads through dub-techno, percussive psychedelia, and experimental bass music. He rose to prominence in the late 2000s with raw, emotive garage tracks that captured the restless energy of the UK underground. His music often draws from the physicality of dancefloors while reaching toward introspective, almost ritualistic spaces.
**Wootton** also co-leads **Holy Tongue** alongside percussionist **Valentina Magaletti**, and performs as a live member of the London trio **Moin**; his eclectic sphere of influence blending experimental dub and post-punk textures with genre-deconstructing, rhythm-forward explorations. His approach, both as a producer and curator, seeks not just to move bodies but to tap into a collective memory of sound, tracing unseen connections across cultures and histories.
