Ari has long been one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the country, and he has also built a good reputation abroad for his comedy shows. In 2020 he became the first Icelandic entertainer to have a comedy special picked up by the American streaming service Netflix. His show Pardon My Icelandic was released worldwide to millions of viewers, who watched and enjoyed it. Pardon My Icelandic won the Edda Award in 2021 for Entertainment Show of the Year.
