His urgent songwriting paints vivid scenes of shipwrecks, doomed drifters, and biblical visions, balancing calamity with hope. Now pressed to vinyl via Canvasback/Transgressive, it includes two bonus tracks. Written during a transitional period, Freeman’s music evolved from solo recordings to collaborative experiments, resulting in dynamic, layered compositions. Despite no PR push, the album gained acclaim, leading to relentless touring with a full band.
