Child Eater - 10 ára afmælissýning!

This November, we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Icelandic-American horror film CHILD EATER, directed by Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen (Cold, Rift, The Piper).

Child Eater is a love letter to the horror films of the 1980s and ’90s. It follows babysitter Helen as she finds herself in a horrifying situation when young Lucas mysteriously disappears from his bedroom one night. She follows his trail deep into the woods, where a man named Robert Bowery is said to prey on children, stealing them away to eat their eyes. What follows is a nightmarish and terrifying chain of events in which no one is safe — neither adults nor children.

The screening will be preceded by Erlingur’s short film of the same name, which served as the inspiration for the feature. The short was screened at numerous film festivals, including SXSW and RIFF.

Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen will be in attendance along with the film’s composer, Einar Sv. Tryggvason. Following the screening, they will take questions from the audience — and raise a glass at Rainbow Bar for those who would like to stick around a little longer.
