At Hafnarhús, we house the Erró Collection. In 1989, Erró donated a major collection of his works to the City of Reykjavík, comprising around 2,000 pieces. The collection has grown steadily over the years, as Erró has continued to add to his gift and additional works have been acquired, bringing the collection to approximately 4,000 artworks today.
Exhibitions drawn from the Erró Collection hold a permanent place at Hafnarhús. Through these exhibitions, the museum seeks to present the greatest possible insight into the diverse themes and artistic approaches that characterize the artist’s work.
