DEICIDE ARE COMING TO AUSTRALIA — AND THEY’RE BRINGING HELL WITH THEM
Death Metal’s Most Uncompromising Force Returns Down Under for the First Time Since 2006
DEICIDE are back!
After more than 20 years away from Australian stages, one of the most notorious, influential and downright punishing bands in the history of death metal will finally return to Australia in January and February 2027.
The Tampa, Florida death metal institution will unleash their assault across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, delivering a long-overdue dose of the brutality that has made DEICIDE one of the biggest names the genre has ever produced. Formed in Tampa in 1987 by bassist/vocalist Glen Benton and drummer/composer Steve Asheim, DEICIDE didn't just become part of the death metal movement — they helped define it.
When their self-titled debut detonated in 1990, the band's blueprint was already brutally clear: savage riffs, relentless drumming, demonic intensity and absolutely zero interest in compromise. Then came Legion in 1992, a landmark record that propelled DEICIDE into the international metal spotlight and cemented their place among death metal's elite. Their impact has been enormous. DEICIDE are credited as the second-best-selling death metal band of the SoundScan era, while their first two albums became major commercial benchmarks for extreme metal. By November 2003, Deicide and Legion ranked second and third respectively among the best-selling death metal albums of the SoundScan era. More than three decades later, the band has built a formidable catalogue spanning twelve studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums and two live DVDs. But statistics only tell part of the story.
DEICIDE's legacy has been forged in blood, volume and sheer sonic violence. Their music has remained relentlessly hostile, uncompromising and unapologetically extreme through changing trends, musical fashions and generations of metal bands. Now the wait is over.
After more than 20 years, DEICIDE are finally coming back Down Under.
For Australian fans who have been waiting since 2006, DEICIDE will once again bring their blasphemous, skull-crushing death metal to our shores.
