A river disappears, but its memory remains.
Burning Bridges grew from a 24-hour performance beneath Skeiðarárbrú, where the glacial river Skeiðará once flowed. For one day and one night, seventeen fires burned beneath the abandoned bridge—a vigil for a vanished river and for a landscape undergoing irreversible change.
The film moves between fire, water, darkness and silence, tracing the fragile relationship between what disappears and what we choose to remember.
Burning Bridges is not only a work about loss. It is about what remains after loss—and whether, in a changing world, we can transform memory into responsibility and hope.
