AmenraAmenra is a progressive/sludge/post-metal band formed 2003 in Belgium (Kortrijk, West-Flanders).
Amenra delivers dark, heavy and sludgy post-hardcore in the vein of Cult of Luna, Isis and Neurosis. Intense, noisy and gloomy almost spheric at times. Rich and Textured riffs. Thunderous low tones. High impact percussion and cutthroat vocals splattered with a healthy dose of religious iconography. Coalesce into a beautiful pitch black collection of staggering proportion.

Sophie StraatDutch folk singer Sophie Straat grew up at the end of the 90’s in the former, now gentrified working-class area de Pijp. Nowadays she writes, with her partner Wieger about the effects of gentrification in Amsterdam. Her songs give us insight into the lives of the owner of a ‘green cargo bike’, the employee of the Zuidas (financial district) and the child that has just moved to Amsterdam North. In March 2023, second album "Smartlap Is Niet Dood" came out on which the traditional smartlap was supplemented with more modern pop music. -

‘t Hof van Commerce, since 1998, Niemand Grodder! -
PloegendienstThey had already given up on the band, and, for a year and a half, the members of Ploegendienst, the 100% anti-everything band around SMIB-founder Ray Fuego, had not spoken to each other. Then drummer Bram came with good news: there was still a substantial sum in the bandpot. His plan: to record new music on an island. Result "Ik" came out in April. Ploegendienst is back and they still want to demolish every venue as quickly as possible with their brand of 80s hardcore punk, oi and trash. -

Doodseskader
Doodseskader (Dutch for “Death Squad”) is a merging of the minds of Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Much Luv Studio) and Sigfried Burroughs (Kapitan Korsakov, Paard). For over three years now Doodseskader relentlessly pushes the envelope of being a “heavy” band, from the grunge-infused sludge of their debut EP to the punishing blend of hiphop and hardcore of their Year One album, plus the sonic onslaught of relentless rapping on singles like ‘FLF’ and ‘Still Haven’t Killed Myself’, they effortlessly defy any form of categorization.

Luisa Almaguer“What do you see in the mirror? / What do you see when you look at me? / I carry wounds / from what you call love.” Mexican singer Luisa Almaguer knows that everything she does – every song she releases – is a political act. An outspoken advocate for trans rights, she identifies with feminism, speaks openly about privilege and works to reshape dominant social narratives. In 2018, she launched the first Latin American podcast focused on the life stories of the trans community. A year later, she released her second album Mataronomatar; her latest record, Weyes (2024), received praise from outlets such as Rolling Stone, Remezcla, KEXP and El País. That same year, she performed at Bahidorá festival alongside Damon Albarn and his Africa Express project – a line-up that visitors of last year’s Pohoda festival described as one of the highlights of the entire event. “For me, it was an immense school, a kind of university – the chance to work with so many artists from all over the world, speaking different languages. We had to communicate through music. It may sound like a cliché, but when you experience it, you quickly realise how universal and truly special a language music is,” she told Full Moon magazine about the collaboration that marked a turning point in her life. She continues to rehearse with Albarn while also nurturing ambitions as a filmmaker. Luisa Almaguer will perform in her Czech premiere at Colours of Ostrava with her own band, bringing a blend of folk, shoegaze, grunge and hyperpop – a performance that promises to be both urgent and uplifting.

Dressed Like BoysJelle Denturck is the singer and frontman of DIRK., a popular Belgian indie band that – in his own words – ‘has been making a fair amount of noise these past few years’. But in fact he thinks he’s a real softie, with a record collection full of melancholic indie pop and rock music: Bowie, Beatles, Lou Reed, Elton John, Nina Simone, Anohni & The Johnsons, Sufjan Stevens, Perfume Genius, Wilco, Tobias Tesso Jr. … clearly there’s a side to Denturck that doesn’t easily reveal itself in DIRK.’s music.
It's about time, Denturck feels. As Dressed Like Boys he wanted to write songs and make a record all of his own. Not to turn it into an ego trip, but by way of self-examination. Denturck sings about the search for personal freedom, about his dearest friends, his homosexuality and relationship, but doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable topics like gay bashing either. It doesn’t get more personal and fragile than this.
