From the club back to the stands.

  • Bert & Friends
    Bert & Friends

One of the most singular phenomena of the Czech music scene is bringing České moře to Ostrava. The band led by charismatic frontman Albert Romanutti creates a world where echoes of the past blend with visions of the future. Living dreams collide with electronics, melancholy with playfulness, and pop music drifts off into other dimensions. They first appeared at Colours of Ostrava back in 2019, when only a handful of singles were out. The EP  Supr  followed later that autumn, a live album  2050  arrived in 2021, and the band finally unveiled its debut album in 2024. Bert & Friends are now preparing a big show for the 23rd edition of Colours, drawing on their acclaimed performances at the Rudolfinum and Forum Karlín, as well as concerts in Tokyo, Seoul, and closer to home in Děčín and Frýdek-Místek. With songs like  Haluzinace ,  Plody moří  and  Lambaláda , Bert & Friends have won fans across generations. This summer, they will also bring to Ostrava the still-fresh sound of  České moře .

  • Madhouse Express
    Madhouse Express

Madhouse Express is confidently surfing the neo-psychedelic wave, becoming one of the most interesting club bands on the current independent Czech scene. Using sweeping guitars, mystical keys and hazy vocals, they‘ve been cooking up a thick psychedelic stew for the past 10 years. On their latest album, Something With Space, the quartet from Prague approaches what is currently resonating on the global neo-psychedelic scene, drawing listeners into their dreamlike universe.

  • Anna Vaverková
    Anna Vaverková

Anna is an indie-pop artist based in Berlin, and has since 2018 been a founding member of indie group The Flavians. With the latter, Anna has performed at Glastonbury and the Reeperbahn festival, to name a few. Just prior to the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in 2020, the band released their debut album which they were unable to tour due to travel restrictions.
With the unexpected abundance of time in lockdown, Anna began writing her own songs. Due to homesickness and dissatisfaction with her lyrics in English, she decided to create in her native language - Czech.

Nevertheless, the emotive vocal performances and beautiful musicality of these songs transcend language in connecting with the listener. Her debut EP Roztomilá Holka from 2022 caught the attention of the wider public and her own work earned Anna nominations for three music awards - Vinyla for Discovery of the Year, Apollo for Best Single of 2022 and Anděl Awards in the Alternative and Electronica category.

The success story continued with the release of her debut album "Pozdravy z polepšovny" which is already considered to be one of the best Czech albums of 2023 by many critics.
