FOHLC Europe Conference 2026

The people behind heritage language education are very dedicated! That is inspiring, but it doesn’t mean the work is always recognized as it should be.

That's why at this year's FOHLC Europe conference, we will look at how more recognition can help professionalize the heritage language education sector:

🔹 How can heritage language education be better recognized and valued within mainstream education and wider society?

🔹 How can students get recognition for their language skills, for example through school credit or certificates?

🔹 What kinds of training and teaching materials do heritage language teachers need to be effective and supported in their work?

🔹 Which organizations need to be connected so that knowledge and resources can be shared?

Join us to discuss these issues together with heritage language educators, program managers, researchers, and advocates from across Europe and beyond.
