Goodnight, Phone! Creative Workshop for Children and Families Is your phone starting to get on your nerves? Or could it be that your phone is getting tired of you? In this creative workshop, we’ll let our imagination run free as we decorate bedtime blankets for our phones using Faraday fabric, a special material that blocks phone signals. These phone blankets help us put our phones to rest for a while, creating more space for togetherness, play, and quality time. Emma Shannon is a Reykjavik-based Scottish textile artist, designer and educator. Her work explores the intersection of future technologies and traditional craft through material research and hands-on making. As a member of the Endurtakk collective and Textile Project Manager at Góði hirðirinn, she focuses on the creative reuse and repair of locally sourced textiles and clothing. This event is part of Soft Networks – Digesting Information together, a programme series supported by the Icelandic Library Fund. From 11th - 18th of October, Reykjavík City Library will offer a variety of events for children and families across all eight library branches as a lead-up to Media Literacy Week.
