Tuesday November 3rd at 12 p.m., we warmly welcome you to the next Midday Concert at Hafnarborg, when Björk Níelsdóttir will be the guest of Antonía Hevesi, pianist and artistic director of the concert series. The programme will feature arias from operas and operettas by Mozart, Puccini, Massenet and Herbert, under the title “Many Kinds of Love”.

Björk Níelsdóttir, soprano, studied classical singing at Tónlistarskólinn í Hafnarfirði with Dr Þórunn Guðmundsdóttir and later at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she completed her master’s degree in 2015 with the highest honours and also received special recognition for her artistic work. Björk has taken part in the premieres of numerous operas, theatre productions and musical works in the Netherlands, Germany, France and Iceland. She has also performed as both a singer and trumpet player on concert tours with Björk and Florence and the Machine.

In 2026, she won the Gríma Award (Icelandic Performing Arts Award) for Singer of the Year.

Antonía Hevesi, pianist, has since the beginning served as the artistic director of the Midday Concert series at Hafnarborg, which has been a regular part of the museum’s programme since 2003. In this role, Antonía has collaborated with many of the country’s leading vocalists, with the aim of offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy live music performances at a relaxed pace. The Midday Concerts are generally held on the first Tuesday of each month during the winter season.

The concert starts promptly at 12 p.m., lasting for approximately half an hour. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the concert is open to all, as long as seating is available. Free entry.
