Hvað er? Eyjar, örnefni og fuglar á Breiðafirði

For more than four decades, Þorvaldur Þór Björnsson has worked on recording place names, mapping islands and skerries, and documenting bird species in Breiðafjörður Bay. What began as a personal interest later became part of his work at the Natural Science Institute of Iceland, where he is currently employed. His efforts have resulted in the preservation of thousands of precisely documented place names.

In this lecture, Þorvaldur will discuss how his hobby evolved into his primary profession and share the achievements and discoveries that have come from his work in Breiðafjörður.
