A little piece of Croatia is coming to Iceland!
As part of the project, I Feel Like Telling a Story, the award-winning Teatar Poco Loco from Zagreb, Croatia, is coming to Iceland with two imaginative shadow theatre performances for children and families: The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats and Grandfather and the Biggest Turnip in the Universe.
Through professional acting, live music, illustrations, light and shadow theatre, the artists bring well-known stories to life in a playful and imaginative way.
At the heart of I Feel Like Telling a Story is the joy and importance of reading. The project invites children to discover how a story can grow beyond the pages of a book and become music, images, movement and theatre.
Children won’t only be watching. After the performances, they will have a chance to discover shadow theatre for themselves. Together with the artists, they will have the opportunity to use their imagination and create their own shadow figures, experiment with light, colour, water and movement, and invent stories of their own.
I Feel Like Telling a Story also brings Croatian and Icelandic culture together. Through stories, music and theatre, children and families can discover another culture, share experiences and see how stories can connect us even when we speak different languages.
The performances are created for children aged 3–12 and their accompanying adults. They are performed in Croatian with Icelandic subtitles, while their strong visual and musical character makes them accessible to audiences from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Teatar Poco Loco is an independent professional theatre company from Zagreb, bringing together actors, musicians, directors, dramaturgs, visual artists and drama educators. In 2025, the company received the Croatian Theatre Award for Outstanding Contribution to Performing Arts, recognizing its long-standing dedication and contribution to theatre for children and young audience.
Come and listen, watch, imagine and create with us!
