Jazz í Djúpinu // GH Gipsy Trio

The trio performs jazz with an instrumentation rooted in the musical tradition of guitarist Django Reinhardt. Their repertoire is a diverse blend of old and new tunes drawn from a variety of sources, and over time the trio has developed a distinctive personal style in which tradition and innovation meet.

The group has received outstanding acclaim wherever it has performed, whether on prestigious international stages such as the Django Festival at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam or at Django Days in Iðnó, where their performances were met with great enthusiasm alongside a stellar lineup of Icelandic and international musicians.

The Jazz í Djúpinu concert series takes place on Thursday nights at 8:30 PM during the fall of 2026. Djúpið is the basement of the restaurant Hornið (Hafnarstræti 15, 101 Reykjavík). The entrance to Djúpið is at the back, facing Bæjarins beztu. The entrance to the basement opens at 8:00 PM. Ticket price is 4.000 ISK, tickets are sold at the entrance and in advance. The concert series is organised by the Jazz Department of FÍH. Please note that there is no wheelchair access at the venue.
