Marginal Jazz for Voice and Electric Guitar

Helga Margrét Clarke and Róberta Andersen bring together songs from widely different directions that share one thing in common: they exist somewhere on the margins. Voice and electric guitar meet in a free-flowing dialogue, where the songs are gently led off their familiar paths and into a sound world created in the moment.

Helga Margrét Clarke is a singer-songwriter with a background in classical piano and contemporary vocal performance. Her music draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, and she has worked extensively at the intersection of jazz, pop, and original songwriting.

Róberta Andersen is a guitarist and composer who has spent many years working on the fringes of Icelandic jazz, pop, and experimental music. She has performed with múm and is a member of the trio Hist og, where jazz, improvisation, and electronic soundscapes converge. In her guitar playing, she makes extensive use of effects, texture, and free improvisation.
