Jazz í Djúpinu // petals, Ingibjörg Turchi & Sólrún Mjöll

petals, Ingibjörg Turchi and Sólrún Mjöll are an all-women trio exploring the possibilities of free jazz / free improvisation.

Having previously played together as part of the Banana Dream Ensemble both at Mengi and Iðno, the three musicians will come together in a more intimate, close-knit configuration. This will be their first performance as a trio where they will spontaneously improvise, and lean into wherever the music leads.

We hope you’ll join us and allow yourself to be touched by all the freedom, playfulness and the beauty that they are trying to express.

The Jazz í Djúpinu concert series takes place on Thursday nights at 8:30 PM during the fall of 2026. Djúpið is the basement of the restaurant Hornið (Hafnarstræti 15, 101 Reykjavík). The entrance to Djúpið is at the back, facing Bæjarins beztu. The entrance to the basement opens at 8:00 PM. Ticket price is 4.000 ISK, tickets are sold at the entrance and in advance. The concert series is organised by the Jazz Department of FÍH. Please note that there is no wheelchair access at the venue.
