Each year, art spills from almost every corner of the neighborhood, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore and celebrate art in all its forms. One might stumble upon artworks while running errands such as picking up groceries, or choose to experience the full program by following the festival map. Hamraborg Festival is built in close collaboration with the local community, with many works responding to the architecture, history, and everyday life of the Hamraborg area. Over the years, art has spread throughout Hamraborg’s cultural venues, shop windows, cafés, offices, and public spaces, such as Catalina, Gerðarsafn, EuroMarket, Polo Vape Shop, Kópavogur Library, and others.

All exhibitions are open August 28 - September 4 during each location’s regular opening hours.

Hamraborg Festival is an annual, vibrant, week-long celebration of art and community in the heart of Kópavogur. This year's festival is the 6th edition, and will run from August 28th to September 4th, marking the end of summer with a program of exhibitions, performances, workshops, concerts and public events – open to everyone, free of charge.
