In theatre, the ‘fourth wall’ is regarded as the dividing line between performers and the audience – it serves to ensure the independence and autonomy of the artistic process. It is therefore no coincidence that Maiah Manser chose to title her debut album ‘Fourth Wall’ (2024). After all, as a singer, producer and visual artist, she crafts a style that is as cinematic as it is idiosyncratic, reflected in magnificent sounds and imagery. Even the EP “Third Degree” (2022) reveals the LA-based artist as a boundary-crosser who playfully shifts between art pop and electro, alternative charm and pulsating drum’n’bass. It is a signature sound in which the aesthetics of fantasy novels play an equal role alongside dazzling futurism and the delights of club culture. Having previously worked as a backing vocalist for big names such as Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande, Maiah Manser can also look back on a remarkable stage career and draws on this experience for her own music videos and live shows. With her new singles “Feeling It All” and “What’s It All For?” (2026), she’ll finally be stopping by to see us in September.
