🌸Welcome everyone to the Opening ceremony of Hamraborg Festival on Friday the 28th of August at 18:00 at Listatún!

Friday will be smack full of amazing events, performances, exhibitions and concerts!

At 18:00, we formally open the festival at Listatún followed by a concert by Benni Hemm Hemm and Páll Óskar with Blika Women’s Choir at Salurinn.

All exhibitions will be open - Library, Natural History Museum, Polo Vape Shop, Sportsól, Krónan and more venues all over Hamraborg! There will be an ongoing performance by Kviss búmm bang at the Library from 17-19 and performance group Limit Getaway present their first event in an ongoing series over the weekend, starting at Visitor travel agency.

Performance Night, party and dj sets at Gerðarsafn in the evening! Works by Silfrún Una Guðlaugsdóttir, Lindy Lin, Sæborg in MRI (Michael Richardt and Egill Ásdísarson), and Juulius Vaiksoo with Helena Tõrva.

Krónikan will be open throughout the night! And then we dance! DJ ÓK will ignite the dancefloor after performances.

Hamraborg Festival is an annual, vibrant, week-long celebration of art and community in the heart of Kópavogur. This year's festival is the 6th edition, and will run from August 28th to September 4th, marking the end of summer with a program of exhibitions, performances, workshops, concerts and public events – open to everyone, free of charge. The festival is built in close collaboration with the local community, with many works responding to the architecture, history, and everyday life of the Hamraborg area.
