Reading Time with Svakalega lestrarkeppnin

Svakalega lestrarkeppnin (e. The Awesome Reading Competition ) is a nationwide reading initiative for children in grades 1–7.
To celebrate this reading initiative, we are hosting a reading session at our library, where we have created a cozy reading corner for children. We will offer juice and cookies, and we encourage all children in grades 1–7 to come, choose a book from the library, and enjoy a few minutes of reading.
All schools can participate and compete to see which school reads the most during the competition period, September 15 to October 6, 2026.
The goal of the competition is to increase children’s enjoyment of reading.
During the competition, schools keep track of how long their students read and submit their total reading times at the end of the competition. The school that reads the most minutes wins the competition and earns the title “The Awesome Reading School of the Nation”, along with fantastic book prizes.
