Pack a box of your favourite books and albums. Squeeze the last lot of clothes into your suitcase. Place the last of your belongings in the back seat and force the door shut. Put your seatbelt on, draw a deep breath, and take a left onto Hope Street...

To celebrate the release of their latest single, Hope Street, Ewan and Mahney of The Humbuckin’ Pickups invite you to an intimate, stripped-back preview of their forthcoming album of the same name. Set in the Art Post in Gympie, this special performance offers a chance to hear the songs as they were born — raw, honest and up close — along with the stories and inspiration behind them.

Joining them on the day is Sunshine Coast local Jack Raymond, whose “Mountain Roots” sound blends blues, folk and heart. With his guitar and stomp box, Jack brings a raw and soulful energy to the stage, shaped by his years growing up in Victoria’s High Country and performing at festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Gympie Muster and Tamworth.

Tickets are limited to keep the show intimate.

Alcoholic Beverages and cheese platters are available.

3pm doors for a 3:30pm show.

... As the title track and lead single from their upcoming fourth album—due for release in December 2026—"Hope Street" uses street names and traffic signs as metaphors for emotional turmoil. The song takes listeners on a driving journey through the wreckage of a breakup, navigating the irony of fleeing via "Hope Street," breaking down at the "corner of regret and despair," and ultimately finding oneself trapped on a "dead-end road."
