The Icelandic Textile Association presents the group exhibition Textile Stories at Reykjavík City Library Spöngin. The exhibition brings together 35 members of the association, who tell a diverse range of stories through textiles, materials and craftsmanship.
The works draw on memories, experiences, places and imagination, among other sources of inspiration. They reflect a wide range of methods and approaches within textile art and textile design, demonstrating how materials, forms, colours and craftsmanship can become a means of storytelling.
The Icelandic Textile Association has been active since 1974 and currently has 118 members. Its members work in a variety of ways within textile design, visual art, or both.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, 3 December, from 4–6 PM, and everyone is warmly welcome.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, 30 January 2027 and can be visited during the library’s opening hours:
Monday–Thursday: 10 AM–6 PM
Friday: 11 AM–6 PM
Saturday: 11 AM–4 PM
