Life in the Village
About
Life in the village is the title of the Sunday programme on 26 June at the Árbær Open Air Museum. Guests are invited on a journey through time as they watch costumed guides doing traditional chores inside and outside the houses. Be sure to look inside the house Hábær where the mistress will be cooking some tasty Icelandic ‘lummur’ pancakes for guests passing by. Up in the loft at the original Árbær farm, yarn is spun from Icelandic wool and at Miðhús, there is a printer at work. The event programme is from 13:00-16:00, but the museum is open from 10:00-17:00. Free admission for children and people with disabilities. Árbær Open Air Museum is part of Reykjavík City Museum: One museum in five unique places.
