Garage rock with a distinct punk edge and a quintessentially British touch of sarcasm – The Sukis already mastered this style to perfection on their début EP, “Becca” (2022). The trio from Hertfordshire, UK, managed to generate unprecedented hype around themselves in the midst of the pandemic, a phenomenon not entirely attributable to singles like “Becca” or “Intimacy” (2021). It was the band’s electrifying live shows above all else that saw them sell out one underground venue after another up and down the country, quickly making a name for themselves. Their second EP, “A Sense Of Doubt” (2023), also made a splash to rival that of a PR-hyped Oasis album in the nineties, but all on its own steam: The Sukis are doing everything with zero big promotional campaigns – and they sound more versatile, nonconformist, and unique for it. Sure, inspirations from the likes of Arctic Monkeys to The Strokes and David Bowie come through loud and clear here and there, but this trio has already established a signature sound all of their own.
