Rainer Jancis is an Estonian guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, known as the leader of the Estonian cult band Metro Luminal. He has written music for films and theatre such as Mai Murdmaa’s ballets "Rhino" and "Dance marathon", Rene Vilbre’s film "I Was Here", Priit Pääsuke’s "The End Of Chain", Jaan Toomik’s "Kala", Christian Alvart’s "Antibodies" and many more. At present he is focusing on his multi-instrumental solo shows, playing drums, guitar and keyboards, while singing over them. This multi-instrumental setup is based on an acoustic drum set played with foot pedals, a technique that keeps his hands free for the rest of the applications. He also uses midi bass pedals, which allow him to play bass lines and drones with his feet while playing drums and guitar.
